Abstract

At present the tire discard has reached immense proportions around the world, being the treatment of them still a bottleneck and, one of the alternatives is the decomposition of the same one to reuse its components. The recovered carbon black is one of these components and may possess properties that may be relevant for tire remanufacturing applications, as well as various other uses in different areas. This project aims to prepare a composite of SBR with recovered carbon black and verify the crosslinking process of the same from rheometer analysis ASTM D2084, density ASTM D297, accelerated aging ASTM D573, hardness ASTM D2240 and crosslink density using organic solvent swelling techniques using the Flory-Rehner equation and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) for purposes of comparation of results and checking the effectiveness of the swelling technique.
