Abstract

This work consists of three analytical units. The first unit concerns the analysis of the philosophical principles of Louis-Ferdinand Céline's style, from both his epistle, Voyage au bout de la nuit and Mort à Crédit. In addition to the remarkable literary dimension that stands out immediately when reading his letters, the metaliterary aspect that Céline uses to talk about concepts that are dear to him and that contribute to the composition of his work, the epistle will be explored here with the objective of exposing the philosophical principles that govern the constitution of Céline's style. Such an analytical exercise seems to assume all the more importance as in most of his statements outside the espistolar genre, Céline constantly distances his literary enterprise from a philosophical regime. The second and third units concern the translation of Guignol's Band and the comparative stylistic analysis of its style. Eventually, the principles exposed in the first unit and the translational exercise of the second and third units, will allow us to think about the central problem in Céline's style, emotion; that is, it is absolutely necessary to think about whether or not his literature is part of a non-representative regime, as he himself intended to do.
