Abstract

The objective of this project is to contribute to the analysis of human interaction and perception with the basic sanitation aspects, seeking to promote subsidies for alternative and innovative procedures of communication and environmental awareness. It will be carried out through exploratory qualitative research, using the theoretical saturation method for sampling compliance, addressing case study in fieldwork. Five systematic procedures will be taken: bibliographic review of documents, scientific articles, reports, books and thesis with environmental communication studies; understanding of the relationship and perception of the urban population of São Carlos-SP (businessmen and residents living near the main streams of the city) with of basic sanitation subjects, through individual interviews and reports, document studies; structured analysis of the obtained data and informative materials about the proposed theme, collected in competent agencies and institutions; establishment of criteria for effective environmental communication and proposition of new guidelines for the action of sensitization and communication for basic sanitation. Through this research, it is intended to indicate procedures and subsidies for environmental awareness in aspects related to the basic sanitation.
