Abstract

Pasture is one of the main crops in Brazil, and one of the most used is Brachiaria brizantha. Several endophytic bacteria have favored plant growth through increased uptake of nutrients, the production of phytormones (mainly auxins) and enzymes. There are endophytes in most plant tissues and in a large number of plants, colonizing them systemically by colonies of bacteria residing in intercellular spaces, inside vascular tissue, or inside cells. Endophytes are those microorganisms that colonize the interior of plants being found in healthy plant organs and tissues and do not cause damage to the host plant. Although of the great economic importance and to know this potential beneficial interaction: bacterium-plant, there are few studies with bacteria promoting growth in pastures. The present work will aim to isolate and characterize endophytic growth promoting bacteria in pasture (Brachiaria brizantha). It will be isolated endophytic bacteria from leaves and roots of the plants found in the Núcleo de Estudos Ambientais de Sorocaba (NEAS-UNISO), that present the enzyme ACC deaminase, and the isolated bacteria will be characterized by the production of auxins, where those with biotechnological potential will be identified, by sequencing the 16S rDNA gene. This isolation will help in future studies of the use of this interaction in the agricultural production of pastures, and may contribute to the growth of this crop of great agronomic importance.
