The aim of this study was to perform the longitudinal three-dimensional evaluation to analyse the volumetric dimensional changes of the dental arches of children with unilateral cleft lip and palate before and after primary plastic surgeries. The sample will comprise of digital models in the phases of pre-queiloplasty, pre-palatoplasty and 1 year post-palatoplasty. The measurement of the volume of dental arches will be performed directly on the three-dimensional images of dental casts digitized by a laser scanner system and the measurements will be executed through the software of the 3D stereophotogrammetry system. Paired t-test and Dalbergh's formula will be applied to evaluate the method error. Inter-class Correlation Coefficient (ICC) will be used to analyze the inter-rater concordance. Independent t test and ANOVA followed by the Tukey Test will be used to verify the alterations occurred among groups. If necessary, other statistical tests will be applied. The level of significance of 5% will be applied to consider statistically significant differences.
