Abstract

The recent adjoining between children and technology favours contact with lettering world, hence leading to psychic development through language skills acquisition. Discursive and symbolic language are differently processed and it remains elusive whether exposure to technological advices impacts either learning pathways. Accordingly, this study aims to investigate learning patterns among students during their literacy phase, considering the dialogs between children, school and society. To tackle this issue, students from a state school located in Campinas, São Paulo, will be followed. Data analysis will be based on key authors, such as Vigotski and Bakhtin, motivated mainly by the social and historically constructed perspective of human development. Literacy strategies will be recorded as áudios and/or videos and detailed in a notebook. Through this data, workshops will be enrolled to collect indicators of symbolic learning in digital native students through close examination of their interaction with technological sources during pedagogical practices. At last, a detailed analysis of how children interact with technology at the onset of their learning processes will be enrolled, ultimately leading to the proposal of new technical-semiotioc instruments that mediate psychological development.
