Abstract

This proposal aims for the construction, characterization and tests of a THGEM detector that is already in development at the University of São Paulo. This prototype will be used to improve and tune simulation parameters of toolkits such as Geant4 and Garfield++, as well as to test its application in the UFABC experimental multiuser center in substitution to a similar detector, but much more expensive. The construction of this prototype happens is connected to the group participation in the ALICE collaboration and it could be tested as an alternative to an upgrade proposal within the collaboration.
