Abstract

The search for direct restoration that to present good properties physics and mechanics, and that reproduce the naturalness of the teeth, has led to the improvement of restorative materials. The Bulk Fill resins have shown similar performance to conventional composite resins with respect to traction and marginal adaptation, even having different techniques of insertion in the dental cavity. Its main advantage is the use of a single increment of up to 4-5 mm, which optimizes working time in restorative procedures. Thus, the use of Bulk Fill resins could contribute positively in cases of direct restorations in posterior teeth, however, further studies are necessary to evaluate their performance against the extrinsic staining that they are submitted daily, because in an oral environment, this material is subject to degradation and staining, can influence the longevity of these restorations.
