Abstract Several studies have been discussing the coexistence of glaucoma and ocular surface disease. In patients undergoing topical antiglaucomatous treatment, prevalences close to 50% were found, with correlation between symptoms and amount of antiglaucomatous drugs used.Although several recent studies have pointed to the correlation of ocular surface alterations secondary to toxicity of topical antiglaucomatous medications, little attention has yet been paid to this fact in clinical practiceThis study aims to evaluate the influence of ocular surface treatment in patients with glaucoma regarding adhesion to antiglaucoma treatment, control of intraocular pressure, signs and symptoms of ocular surface dysfunction and markers of inflammation of conjunctival tissue and tear. | |
