Abstract

The objective of the present study will be to evaluate the efficacy of extracts of different species of Cryptocarya on biofilm of Candida albicans by means of in vitro studies. The plants will be evaluated in relation to the Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Fungicidal Concentration (CFM) of planktonic cells of Candida albicans as well as the Minimum Fungicidal Concentration of these cells in biofilm (CFMb). Such analyzes will be performed using the XTT tests and counting of colony forming units. Subsequently, a mature biofilm will be formed on acrylic resin samples for denture bases and the fungicidal effects of the extracts on this biofilm will also be evaluated. The analyzes will also be performed using the XTT tests and counting of colony forming units. For each study, the data will be submitted to the most appropriate statistical analysis, with a significance level of 5%.
