Abstract

This project, based on the National Policy of Integral Health for the Afro-Brazilian Population, as an analytical reference, aims to assess actions of racial equity on the public policies towards the maternal mortality, of the Mortality Committee of the São Paulo City. The reproductive health of the Afro Brazilian women is an issue rarely visible as per the researches and policies towards women in Brazil. However, various studies have showed a racial profile as per the disparities to the access of health, especially regarding deaths during birth deliveries. This research project, in a qualitative approach, lays hands on data selection tools and analysis very particular to the "policy analysis", aiming to apprehend what is the space of the "racial equity" issue on the policies and actions of the Committee. It is expected, in the end, to gather technical and political subsidies to qualify the attention to health of the mentioned social, ethnic group as per the actions for the prevention of maternal deaths.
