Production of videotapes of mathematics for deaf students in basic education

Abstract

Under the paradigm of inclusive education, the teaching of mathematics to students and their listeners has been a challenge for teachers who are often faced with a shortage or lack of bilingual didactic material in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) and Portuguese. For that matter, the present project of scientific initiation and research should be applied in a qualitative way with the aim of producing four videos of mathematics for students and teachers in basic education. The themes of the video classes, which are displayed through a series of pre-selected programs, are: 1) Sum and subtraction of Natural, Integer and Rational numbers; 2) Division and multiplication of Natural, Integer and Rational data; 3) Addition and subtraction operations with fractions; 4) Operations of multiplication, division and simplification of fractions. In addition to the production of videos, the project involves the testing of students and listeners with audio and video recording and questionnaire application with semi-structured script. A data analysis will be guided by content analysis. It is expected that the results will bring the resources for the learning of the students involved, for the training of future mathematics teachers and for a production area of bilingual Libras/Portuguese teaching materials. With this, a differentiated inclusive education is glimpsed, one that considers valuing the linguistic, cultural and educational of deaf students and listeners.
