Abstract

The present proposal aims at the production and characterization of monocrystalline semiconductor nanowires in the Zn3P2 system. This material presents potential application in opto-electronic devices and can be obtained by alternative routes such as the vapor-liquid-solid mechanism catalyzed by metal nanoparticles. Aiming to improve the growth processes and the definition of devices, we intend to investigate the influence of the metal-semiconductor interfaces for determining the characteristics of the electrical contacts. In this work, the activities proposed to the candidate aim both to learn basic techniques for the production of the samples as the construction of devices and the study of their properties. Finally, it is also intended to evaluate the potential of the devices as photoconductive devices, using nanowires nets.
