Abstract

Physically based animation of fluids such as smoke, water, and fire provides some of the most stunning visuals in computer graphics being vastly used on entertainment industry. However, several phenomena have not yet been well approached and their formulations are still focus of intense research on other fields, such as Physics and Civil Engineering. That is the case of debris flow, whose numerical modeling is challenging due to its complex mixture of solid and fluid materials. This type of phenomenon has great interest to computer graphics and only very few work exist on the field. The goal of this project is to bring such formulations to the field o computer graphics and make their applications in computer graphics useful and accessible to other researchers and members of the industry.
