Abstract

This project deals with a device called PeakFlow, which is an Expiratory Flow Peak Meter (PFE) that is portable, lightweight and easy to handle. In addition, is necessary the automatically identifying of the level of asthma severity, without the need for external means (calculators and tables). This device has an airflow sensor connected to an electronic circuit which, identifying the test value in liters per minute which is immediately decoded for an asthma severity identification scale, taking into account the gender, height and age of the individual, making it a standard value automatically. The project is in the process of patenting but needs the development of a prototype for validation. However, it is imperative that EVTECIAS be carried out so that the investments in the development of the prototype are adequate and feasible. This is the main objective of this scientific initiation project.
