Abstract The research project entitled "Primary education for democracy normative content, within the framework of the inter-American human rights system" is part of the institutionalized teacher research "International Cooperation, Education and Democracy: Global Governance of Primary Education for the democracy within the framework of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)". The research problem is: what is the primary education for democracy content, in the International Declarations and Treaties signed under the aegis of the Organization of American States (OAS)? Therefore, the research main objective is the delimitation of this normative content, as stated by the International human rights law, specifically the inter-American system. It focuses on the interpretation adopted by the human rights inter-American system organs responsible for the implementation of the rights affirmed in the documents identified. The method adopted is documentary research (legislative and jurisprudential), complemented by a bibliographical review. As a research result, it is expected the primary education for democracy definition, in the conventional regional cut-off. It will contribute to the teacher research, by means of the definition of the normative framework in which UNESCO works, in view of global governance and international cooperation in the educational field. | |
