Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the hemogasometry variables in sevoflurane-anesthetized dogs submitted to continuous rate infusion of nalbuphine. There will be 16 dogs, of one to five years old, not castrated, weighting between four to 20 kg. The animals will be distributed in two groups of 8 animals each, denominated group nalbuphine (GN) and the control group (GC). The animals will be induced to anesthesia with facial mask anesthesia with sevoflurane, intubated and connected to the anesthetic circuit, where sevoflurane is adjusted to in the 3 plane of the 3 stage of anesthesia of Guedel. Before administration of the opioid or physiological solution, the variables will be collect at baseline (MB), and be given in bolus of nalbuphine (0.3 mg / kg), followed by continues infusion (0.4 mg / kg / hour). At the GC the process will be made with 0.9% NaCl solution in identical bolus and infusion volumes, both administered intravenously. Observations of the variable were collected at baseline, 40 and 80 minutes after infusion start (MB, M40 and M80 respectively). The data will be tested for normality by the Shapiro-Wilk test. For the variables that present the normal distribution will be performed an analysis of variance and Tukey test for a comparison of means. For the variables that were not passed in the normality test, the Kruskal Wallis test will be performed after the Dunn test to compare moments in each group.
