Abstract

The Brazilian agribusiness sector is very competitive internationally, corresponding to about 25% of the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Due to climatic conditions, the application of agrochemicals is essential for the maintenance of production. However, excessive use and improper handling of these compounds create risks to the environment. In this way, the detection of the fungicide carbendazim (MBC), applied in cotton, citrus, wheat, soybean and bean crops, was investigated using the SERS (surface enhance Raman-scatering) technique using silver metallic nanoparticles (AgNps). The detection will be carried out in ideal solutions (with ultra pure water) and with water in different degrees of impurities, including river waters, seeking approximation of the practice. Detection will be done by distinguishing the bands corresponding to the analyte of interest.
