Abstract

This project is linked to the research group Processes of Constitution of the Subject in Educational Practices from Stricto Sensu Post-Graduation Program in Psychology at PUC-Campinas. This project proposes an intervention research in which the assumptions of Cultural-Historical Psychology especially those from Vygotsky and his readers are adopted as the theoretical-methodological reference. Therefore, this study aims to understand the meanings attributed by parents of high school students to the future of their children. Through this study it is expected not only to contribute to the better understanding of the factors that are the basis of the approximation and the distancing of parents in the school life of their children, but also to better comprehend the relation between the imagined future for the children and the experience of schooling by students and their families. This research project also seeks to promote the discussion about the importance of the school psychologist as a professional that promotes possibilities for the attribution of new meanings to the student-school-family relationship.
