Abstract

We propose here a part of a University Extension Project entitled "Identification of students with high ability and advice of parents and school staff." The target audience of this proposal is composed of 12 mothers of students aged from 5 to 13 years, with indicators of high ability, who sought the Center of Applied Psychology (CPA) UNESP campus Bauru/SP, because the school problems of their children. We will use as data collection instruments - a medical history interview, Interview Guide for the Family; Checklist of Characteristics Associated with Giftedness - CCAS and Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ-By), to intended to answer the research question - What are the views of mothers about AH/SD of their children and their relationships with school complaints ? A Bardin content analysis (2011) will be used to extract information that may contribute to the improvement of the family x school relationship, so important for any student, greatly for those with special educational needs, as in the case of students with AH/SD.
