Abstract

Our society is formed by people with a vast diversity regarding the individual characteristic. The fact is that we are different and as well as we have deficient people with learning difficult, we also find in the society a percentage of people with high abilities/ giftedness. These people who are emphasized because of their superior intelligence or special talent have to be educated firstly as people and not only gifted people. It is extremely important that people with high abilities/giftedness are identified so that their special educational necessities can be assisted. According to the individual's inclusive education, since special education includes high abilities/giftedness, because they are people who need differentiated teaching-learning programs for a long period. In this sense the objective of this study is to raise the number of children with high abilities/giftedness indicator in public schools in Bauru and verify the teachers' conception about this theme. To collect data it will be used an identification and characterization form of the teachers. A standardized form with giftedness indicative and a questionnaire to raise the teachers' conception. It will be realized in this study a bibliographic raising to deepen the studied theme. The data will be analyzed by frequency of answers and displayed in graphics and tables. This study will subsidize the complete evaluation of talented students, possible students with high abilities/giftedness from public schools who were not sighted until this moment. (AU)
