Abstract

Recent studies about the teaching of Law indicates the presence of a mainly genderized and racialized structure, in which a professional idea of white and masculine reference is mobilized. This paper proposes to analyze the power disputes present in the construction of professionalism, specifically in the Faculty of Law of the University of São Paulo - Ribeirão Preto campus, in order to understand the extent to which public visibility is a factor of social stratification in this process. The motivation of this clipping is given by the understanding that the hegemonic discourse is already produced in an unequal context, so that, in order to establish itself, it is based on silenced history. Thus, the hypothesis thinks as central the clash between visibility and invisibility in the professional academic ambient. To prove or refute it, the research uses the multimethod, providing an exploratory investigation about the presentation of the institution through its website and the teachers curriculum that will result in a sociodemographic profile of undergraduate and postgraduate professors, with face-to-face interviews based on a semi-structured script.
