Abstract

In the context of the increase of worlds demand and interest by the production of bioenergy, Brazil took contrast in the global production of bioethanol from sugarcane. As consequence of the intensification of using this energetic alternative in the country, it became necessary to pay attention about possible impacts from its production, highlighting the vinasse generation, a by-product with high potential of pollution to aquatic ecosystem and to biologic communities, as well as aquatic macroinvertebrates. By that way, the present project looks for ecotoxicologiceffects assessment of sugarcane vinasse to native benthic aquatic macroinvertabrates (Allonaisinaequalis e Chironomus sancticaroli) and will simulate the impact of environmental contamination above these species adopting ecosystem models. For this, the research will bedivided in three experimental steps. In the first one, acute toxicity tests will be conducted, evaluating the survival and lethal concentrations to species. The second one will consist in the evaluation of chronic exposure effects, verifying the reproduction to A. inaequalis, also survivaland growing to C. sancticaroli. Lastly, bioassays will be made in ecosystem models searching the evaluation, as well as in the second step, of the vinasse influence to reproduction in A. inaequalis, also growing and reproduction to C. sancticaroli, in an environmental contamination scenario into a semi-field condition.
