Abstract

The manual of Welcoming and Classification of Risk in Obstetrics (W&CRO) proposes the organization of the entrance doors of emergency and obstetric emergency services and the time for care. A previous study on W&CRO demonstrated that, through paper registration, the order of risk classification proposed by the Ministry of Health was not respected when the pregnant woman was referred to the medical service. Thus, the decision support system for risk classification in obstetrics (SACR-O) was developed for electronic registration, implemented for use in a public hospital in the State of São Paulo. Objective: To compare paper record versus decision support system in W&CRO. Methodology: Descriptive-exploratory study, based on secondary data. The research will be conducted in an emergency service at the Maternity Care Department of a public hospital in the state of São Paulo. Will be included in the study pregnant women who sought the Maternity Care Service during the months of June to November 2018 and were classified according to obstetric risk, through the SACR-O. Data from the decision support system will be compared to secondary data from a previous study, developed in 2017, which included pregnant women who sought the same service and were classified according to obstetric risk on paper between August and September 2017. Data analysis: The socio-demographic and clinical profile of pregnant women will be compared, as well as the waiting time for care. The characteristics of pregnant women and care will be analyzed by descriptive statistics.
