Abstract

Nowadays, studies have denoted an important relevance to teen dating violence (TDV). The TDV identification is limited by individual and social factors. This fact has been aggravating in adolescence, when people present greater difficulty in perceiving and talking about these situations. The World Health Organization (WHO) proposes the ecological model for understanding violence, based on the evidence that no single factor can explain the greater risk of some people or groups to interpersonal violence, while others are more protected from it. The aim of this study is to know and analyze the perceptions of adolescents regarding the TDV. Due to the importance of family and school contexts in the adolescents´ life, this study will be complemented by parents/caregivers and education professional’s perceptions. Qualitative research, with the data collection performed through focus groups and field diary. Data analysis will be done through thematic analysis. This study is scientifically justified by the originality to TDV perspective in an ecological model. For the health and nursing agenda, it is a relevant topic in the professional field, focused on the current demands of adolescent health, and school health/nursing. Finally, its social justificative is the qualification of adolescent care, throughout an integral comprehension of the individual, its family and the other contexts where the adolescent is inserted, related to the factors that interfere in the relations and determination of individual, family and collective well-being.
