Abstract

The success of a dental implant is closely related to its ability to integrate with surrounding bone tissue, a process that depends on a number of factors such as primary stability, implant shape, surgical technique, surface treatment, quantity and bone quality. Thus, the objective of the present study will be to evaluate in vitro the physicochemical properties of a nanometric surface treatment. For this purpose, 20 Ti-6Al-4V alloy discs with dimensions of 8 mm x 3 mm thickness (n = 10) will be used: Machined (control) and surface treatment (H3PO4 + NaOH). For the physical-chemical characterization, the analysis of contact angle (wettability), surface roughness, by confocal laser microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and X-ray Dispersive Energy Spectroscopy (EDS) will be performed. The data obtained will be submitted to appropriate statistical treatment to obtain and discuss the results.
