Abstract

The estimation of cosmological parameters from observations allow to determine the best model that describes our universe. A crucial step in this process is the estimation of the errors associated to the measurements, codified in the covariance matrix. In this Project the student will focus on a theoretical study of the covariance matrix that takes into account the contribution of super-horizon modes in the so-called super-sample covariance. In particular he will verify the theoretical estimate using the response function formalism with separate universe lognormal simulations.
