The present work is a study about the burn and degradation of the waste of pequi's core to use as biomass. Initially, the waste will be micronized and dried in a drying oven. Afterwards, the thermal properties such as: thermal degradation, determination of heat capacity and calorific value, and the determination of the components released in each stage of the burning, according to the temperature which the material will be submitted, will be studied. The technics used will be: TGA and DSC and the determination of calorific value will be through a calorimetric bomb with the residue after and before oven drying. Is expected that this research provide information that contribute for the thermal energy cogeneration using pequi's core as biomass.
