Abstract

The present project aims the histomorphometric evaluation of the influence of nanocomposite materials, obtained from the incorporation of nanoparticles of sodium trimetaphosphate decorated with 2,5% silver nanoparticles in polymer matrices polyamide-6, in the bone repair of critical size defects (TCD) surgically created in rats calvaries. 50 rats will be divided into 5 groups: C (control), IM 0% (Implant with 0% membrane), IM 2.5% (Implant with 2,5% membrane), ROGM 0% (guided bone regeneration with 0% membrane) and ROGM 2.5% (guided bone regeneration with 2,5% membrane). A defect of 5mm in diameter will be created in the calvaria of each animal. In group C, the defect will be filled with blood clot only, in the IM 0% and ROGM 0% groups the defects will be filled with polymer matrices polyamide-6 without impregnation of sodium trimetaphosphate decorated with silver nanoparticles, and in groups IM 2,5 % and ROGM 2,5% defects will be filled with polymer matrices polyamide-6 impregnated with 2,5% sodium trimetaphosphate decorated with silver nanoparticles. The animals will be euthanized 30 days after surgery. Histological and histometric analyzes will be performed and the area of neoformed bone (AON) will be calculated as a percentage of the total area of the original defect. The data will be statistically analyzed. (AU)
