Abstract

The prolonged treatment of skin injuries, especially in hospitalized patients, results in a high-cost for public health systems. Therefore, prospects for development of new devices based on biomaterials in the form of transdermal membranes becomes a challenge in the area of tissue regeneration. The state of the art of this work is to develop a high performance biomembrane with antimicrobial, hemostatic and cicatrizing properties, besides optimizing aspects of mechanical resistance and flexibility for application in the wounds healing. Success indicators will be evaluated by characterization of macro-quality aspects of the quality of the membrane, as well as physical-chemical and mechanical properties.
