Abstract

Based on the fundamentals of the Bakhtinian studies, according to which the Utterancy has a great importance and responsiveness (term created by Bakhtin), showing that language has a weight of enormous relevance in the interaction, this project has as a proposal to perform An analysis of the Distopic series The Handmaid's Tale, reflecting from the utterances of the series the current reality. This analysis aims to observe how machismo applies in a patriarchal society to the extreme, observed in this series and what can be absorbed and understood behind the history of the society in which we live. We will then verify through the Bakhtinian analysis allied to the knowledge derived from psychology and sociology the way in which the serie ' utterances merge with reality in the form of warning, together with the questioning of even when discourses of possession of the Female body will become present and naturalized in our society. Thus, we hope that this research contributes to elucidate the role of language in the continuity of non-possession of the female body to women.
