Abstract

This project aims at the study of nonlinear dynamic systems through the study of Bifurcation Theory. In the first phase an introductory study will be done on the basic results of the study of equilibria in nonlinear systems and the concept of structural stability. Next, the types of bifurcations of a dynamic system and their consequent qualitative changes will be studied in function of the variation of the parameters in each case. Finally we will select some population mathematical models and Lotka-Volterra type systems to exemplify bifurcation studies.
