Abstract

The objective of this work is to evaluate the effect of different sources of non-degradable protein in the animal rumen on the emission of greenhouse gases from excreta of Nellore cattle in confinement. The experimental design will be the completely randomized design, with three treatments and nine replications. The experiment will be carried out in May 2019, with a duration of approximately 90 days, being used in 54 animals with initial weight of 360 kg, subject in the treatments: 1) Animals supplemented with soybean meal; 2) Animals supplemented with corn gluten 60; 3) Animals supplemented with protected soybean meal. The animals are allocated in 3 collective bays (11 x 50 m), with beaten floors and with 2 automated covered feeders (INTERGADO) per bay, and collective drinking fountains for two bays. Experimental diets are formulated to meet GMD of 1.8 kg / day. Direct emissions of N2O and CH4 will berecommendations of the GHG manual by the method of closed static measuring cameras of 0.6 x 0.4 x 0.24 m. The cameras will be placed randomly in a demarcated area (6.5x10m) next to the feeders inside each bay, that is, in the places of greater concentration of the animals and of better representativeness in relation to the deposition of excreta. The samplings will be performed once a week throughout the experimental period, totaling 15 samples. The results will be compared with the MIXED PROC MIXED SAS test and the means will be compared using the Tukey test (significance will be calculated at 5%). (AU)
