Abstract

This project aims to research the concept of heritage preservation in the studies of Waldisa Rússio Camargo Guarnieri within the field of Museology, investigating it from the research of archival sources and comparison with the work of other intellectuals, with whom Rússio dialogued, from the fields of Museology, heritage preservation and cultural policies. The intention is to understand, from one of the most relevant personalities for the consolidation of Brazilian Museology between the 1970s and 1980s, how it constituted one of the key concepts for preservation and memory institutions and, at the same time, as the practices of these institutions helped to shape this concept in order to contribute to a better understanding of the field of Brazilian Museology and Preservation practices in the country.
