Abstract

This project of scientific initiation is about to investigate the territorialization in a context of lands first occupied by caiçaras that became target of metropolitan influences of urbanization and environmental conservation, the coastal neighborhood of Guaraú, district of Peruíbe - SP. Inserted in a fierce regional environmental debate, and understanding that this is are triggered by the tensions between "land use patterns" of subsistence, environmental preservation and tourism intensification, it is proposed to understand how these parties are subjects that conflict in the process of territorialization of the capital as a mediator of land use in the region (OLIVEIRA, 1987), inseparable from a reproductive economic system. For this, a literature review of the neighborhood and theoretical studies combined with an empirical research in Guaraú and surrounding areas will be carried out.
