Abstract Social vulnerability is a state of living condition that affects and endangers people`s lives. Social determinants of health are a set of aspects that influences one`s health. That means there is a deep relation between both concepts. From that, this proposal aims to analyze social vulnerability through the interpretation of social determinants of health of Canadian Francophone seniors in minority situation, seeking to understand the existencial reality where these subjects live and the relation with public policies of health and social development, comparing these realities with the Brazilian one. For this, a database will be built that will enable the representation and analysis of social and health data. In this way, the research hopes the present project offers clues and indications that can contribute to the studies of social vulnerability, and thus serves as a foundation for other research studies, public policy changes, among other possibilities. This proposal is linked to the project Francophone Seniors in Minority Situation: Living Conditions, Health Conditions, Quality and Safety of Services, a four-year collaboration from University of Ottawa, University of Moncton and the Canadian Heritage Ministry. The results of this research will help address the candidate`s doctoral research developed at São Paulo State University-FCT/UNESP named Social Vulnerability: Thinking of Public Health and Social Development Policies and Space Modalities of Existence (FAPESP 2018/08454-4), deepening the comprehension of social vulnerability concept and also producing indications to improvement in studies and public policy making in Brazil. | |
