Abstract

The Termômetro Social Covid-19 was signed between the National Health School of the New University of Lisbon (ENSP-UNL), the Ribeirão Preto School of Nursing at University of São Paulo (EERP-USP), and the National School of Public Health of Fiocruz (ENSP-FIOCRUZ). The project has funding from Fundação de Ciência e Tecnologia de Portugal (FCT)l, however, on the Brazilian side the proposal still lacks funding. Due to cultural adaptations, in the country the project was designated Termômetro, in which it assumes transnational characteristics, with the participation of researchers from different institutions in the country and abroad, in addition to those previously described. Among its objectives, it aims to analyze the factors associated with risk perception, patterns of risk behavior, and adherence to protective measures that influence the fight against COVID 19 in Brazil. Thus, our proposal is composed of three phases. The first phase is based on the development of an on-line survey, through a validated instrument, that structures and seeks to understand risk perception and risk behavior, and its factors. The second phase will consist of a complementation with secondary data obtained from the main information systems. And the third phase, anchored in implementation science, for the production of evidence for public policies and the Unified Health System. For the first phase, people living in Brazil, over 18 years old, are being enrolled through a link available on the Internet and hosted in REDCap. Also, in this phase, vulnerable populations have been recruited, through field research, considering people living on the streets, in slums / communities and or settlements. To approach the population in situations of social vulnerability, interviews with field interviewers have been used, given the difficulty of access of these populations in answering the questionnaire over the Internet. In the second phase, indicators of the population's collective risk behavior, expressed by social distance and circulation, and adherence to collective protection measures, translated by vaccine coverage, will be collected, as well as an analysis of their consequences, according to the morbidity and mortality indicators in the general population and the population in situations of social vulnerability. Also, the identification of territories at risk of social vulnerability, and also the charge of COVID-19. For the third phase, there will be consultation with different stakeholders to broaden the understanding of the research results and their recommendation for the translation of the study into public policy. In processing the empirical material descriptive statistics, inferential tests and modeling will be used. For phase 3, it is planned to apply Delphi technique and nominal group technique. The results are expected to contribute to the advancement of public policies and impact on the Brazilian population. (AU)
