Abstract

This project is an integral part of the ongoing research entitled "From the animal traction to the electricalassistance bicycle: social and inclusive design to improve the conditions of recycling collectors", process FAPESP No. 2018/24078-2, which main objective is to detailing in a technical project, for possible prototyping, of a transport cart of recyclable materials that uses traction from an electric-assistive bike. The approved and ongoing research already envisaged the study of assistive individual transport technologies, such as electro-assisted bicycles that can carry a certain amount of load, these technologies are more common in developed countries, especially Europe, where locates the major companies that develop products similar to those proposed by the research, such as Volt and Oxygen, having the contact with those manufacturer and their views of their product and the environment in which it is inserted. However, the possibility of a wide on-site analysis of the use of electro-assistive vehicles in the interior of São Paulo and in Brazil is short, as well as a greater collection of information with users, interviews with local companies and other researchers for the verification the effectiveness and relevance of the project. Thus, obtaining a Research Internship Grant (BEPE) will bring new subsidies for an unprecedented application of electro-assisted transportation technologies for the social development of a marginalized portion of the population.
