Abstract The research aims to discuss the impact of the English economist Maurice Herbert Dobb in the consolidation of Marxism as a historiographical line in England economic history studies. Based on his works about the origins and development of capitalism, supported by Marxist theory, we intend to observe how the author was prominent on the deconstruction, which ends with Studies in the Development of Capitalism, of the British precedent historiographical paradigm.
