Abstract

The purpose of this Scientific Initiation project is to evaluate the efficiency of cell therapy combined with physical activity after induction of focal cerebral ischemia using the photothrombosis technique in the animal model. The present study is part of a larger project where we intend to study the cellular and molecular mechanisms in tissue and functional repair through the therapeutic action of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MTC) labeled with multimodal nanoparticles in the animal model with focal ischemia. With the use of nanobiotechnological resources will be possible to monitor these cells in vivo by molecular imaging techniques, enabling the study of cell tracking and migration that will assist in the functional characterization of these cells in the photothrombosis-induced ischemic brain region of the experimental model.Thus, the present project of scientific initiation will be divided into four stages: the first stage will consist of a systematic review based on scientific articles to evaluate the parameters used in the induction of focal cerebral ischemia using the photothrombosis technique. In the second stage will be performed the marking of the MSC with multimodal nanoparticles. The third stage corresponds to the phototrmobesis stroke induction in the animal model. In the fourth stage implantation of the nanoparticle-labeled MSCs in the animal and subsequent evaluation of the MSM homing and tracking. Finally, in the fifth stage will be performed the behavioral assessment and motor activity. (AU)
