Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the cyclic and torsional fatigue resistance of Nickel-Titanium rotary instruments manufactured by EDM technology: Hyflex EDM 25.~ (Coltene, Whaladent AG) e Mk Life Prototype 25.06 (Mk Life, Porto Alegre). The instruments were reciprocated until fracture occurred in an artificial stainless steel canal with a 600 angle and a 5-mm radius of curvature (n=10). The torsional test evaluated the torque and angle of rotation at the failure of the instruments (n=10) in the portion 3 mm from the tip according to ISO 3630-1. The fractured surface of each fragment was observed by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). (AU)
