Abstract

The need for alternative sources of energy generation has increased substantially over the last years and has been a hot topic in national and international discussions over how to mitigate the effects of climate change. Brazil is one of the biggest generators of renewable energy in the world and has a great potential for bioenergy production. Moreover, the country has one of the highest production and consumption rate of biofuels like, ethanol and biodiesel, which makes it evident the interest over this sector. Unicamp, always sensitive to the needs of the society, of the productive sector and sustainable development, recently opened the Laboratory of Innovation in Biofuels (LIB) as an integral part of its Scientific and Technological Park. With that in mind, this project Media Science has the purpose to develop an efficient strategy of communication, capable of scientifically publishing the research conducted in the area of Biofuels, in order to give visibility to the new laboratory, thus favoring the prospecting of companies with interest in signing R&D projects to be carried out at these facilities. The strategy proposed involves the publishing of different pieces of scientific dissemination to partners of Unicamp, among which we can mention: production and monitoring of content for social networks, news writing, reporting and interviews for Labjor publications and to other Unicamp partners, institutional videos and podcasts. These initiatives will be carried out in partnership with Inova Unicamp Innovation Agency and aim to underline the importance of LIB, highlighting and valuing its potential infrastructure so that interested companies can carry out biofuel studies in their new facilities. This project also allows broadening the debate on the importance of biofuels as a form of renewable energy and its relationship with the environment, as well as stimulating discussions on the need to develop alternative sources of energy generation for the society.
