Abstract

This proposal describes the research to be conducted at Prof. Paul D. Lett' group at the Joint Quantum Institute of the University of Maryland/NIST (USA). I here propose to investigate the production of "twin" beams e intensity-difference squeezing in a four wave mixing systems in rubidium atomic vapor pumped by semiconductor laser. In particular, I will investigate questions related to sources of excess noise. A second goal of this proposal is to study spacial quantum correlations of bright twin beams using an integrating detector, such as a CC camera. (AU)
