Abstract

Mobility is the ability to move in a given environment, considering the aid of devices or transport. The evaluation of mobility is important in the physiotherapy since many interventions aim to improvement of it. When referred to the older adults gains greater importance, because it involves not only physical but also social and environmental aspects. Therefore, the main objective of this study will be to evaluate the life-space of the older adults attending in a Physiotherapy outpatient clinic. Also, relate the life-space with the physical activity level, functional capacity, and physical performance. An observational cross-sectional study will be carried out, in which data will be collected: anamnesis; life-space through the Life-Space Assessment questionnaire; physical activity level through a triaxial accelerometry system; physical performance through the functional tests, Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB) and Timed Up and Go (TUG); and functional capacity using the Brazilian OARS Multidimensional Functional Assessment Questionnaire (BOMFAQ). A descriptive analysis will be used in the statistical analysis to characterize the life-space. Also, the Spearman or Pearson test will be used for correlation of the life-space with the variables of the physical activity level, physical performance, and functional capacity. It will be considered p<0.05. It is expected that the results of this study may contribute to a better design of interventions. (AU)
