Abstract

The statistical approach is considered a fundamental resource for enhancing the decision-making process not only because of uncertainties present in much available information but also because nowadays there is a great quantity of data that requires emphasizing to a quantitative approach. Using consolidated statistical techniques, managers and other practitioners try improving the quality of products, services and also the quality of information about organizational performance. In this sense front of the current technological scene, with a big amount of electronically stored data criteria to establish data quality need to be defined to assurance statistical analysis value. According to some researchers, failures in databases impact statistical analysis, damaging the decision-making and causing revenue loss. The aim of this study is to get empirical evidence about which objective criteria have established by the market intelligence practitioners to guarantee data quality and statistical analysis focusing on decision-making. A Web-based survey with retail organizations from São Paulo State will be performed. (AU)
