Abstract

The present research project aims to analyze the applicability of the documentary film genre in urban discussions and readings. Based on a systemic thinking, the research proposes the study and exploration of the audiovisual field in order to identify potentialities of the use of image and sound in the interpretation of cities, not only by professionals, but also by its inhabitants. It also seeks the exploration of narratives that favor the understanding of emergencies arising from socio-spatial interrelationships and the development of practices that contribute to the construction of urban dynamics and spatiality through collective modes of understanding. This work is developed at Nomads.usp - Center of Interactive Living Studies, connected to the Postgraduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism of the Institute of Architecture and Urbanism at University of São Paulo - IAU-USP.
