Abstract

The fluid-structure interaction often leads to undesirable consequences, such as divergence, command reversal and flutter and therefore needs a deeper analysis, taking into account the effects not predicted by classical theories. Thus, reliable models are needed that can predict the physical behavior of devices that operate at high angles of attack or high frequency movements. The present research project aims to develop a low-order model, using the Discrete Vortex Method, which is able to estimate the aerodynamic loads on an airfoil under high angles of attack, and then analyze the aeroelastic response.
