Abstract

To evaluate the effectiveness of extracts of the species of Cryptocarya in inactivating the biofilm of Candida albicans present in the lingual dorsum of mice with induced candidiasis. In a first study, the plants will be evaluated in relation to the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Fungicidal Concentration (CFM) of the planktonic cells of Candida albicans. The effectiveness of these extracts in inactivating the biofilm of Candida albicans present in the lingual dorsum of mice with induced candidosis will be determined. For this, after treatments with the medicinal plant, the fungi present on the lingual dorsum of mice will be collected and counting of colony forming units. Histological analysis of the samples will also be performed after the different treatments. For each study, the data will be subjected to the most appropriate statistical analysis, with a 5% significance level.
