Abstract

This paper aims to analyze how the circulation of literary work inside the culture is determined by a set of practices, such as the practice of edition, market and literary critique. These practices are understood according to Jacques Fontanille's proposals and are also articulated with the concepts of semiotic practice, forms of life, literary work and culture. We will try to approach the matter of circulation from the perspective of practices, understanding it as a set of factors that affect the preservation and modification of texts and discourses in the culture. The hypothesis we traced is that the recent introduction of Hilda's work in privileged cultural spheres is the result of the editorial finishing given to her work. In this sense, the edition practice would be responsible for promoting strategic adjustments in Hilst's work, establishing reading protocols that are determinant for expanding its circulation. To prove this hypothesis, this work will adopt a heterogeneous corpus, composed of literary works, articles, news and interviews in order to cover the diversity of semiotic experiences that constitute both the literary work and the culture, according to J. Fontanille's understanding. The theoretical-methodological approach will be the one of French semiotics (A. J. Greimas), especially the theoretical model of relevance levels of semiotic analysis (J. Fontanille) and the most recent reflections of Maria Giulia Dondero. We also seek theoretical reflections from book and edition scholars such as Gerard Genette, Roger Chartier and Emmanuel Souchier.
