Abstract

In this project, we propose the study of modulations in four dimensions (4D) using concepts of spherical codes, quaternion algebra and discrete Hopf fibrations. Such tools have been shown to be efficient for the construction and labeling of these modulations in the context of coherent optical communications systems.
